MONSEY: Child, Yungerman Are Critical; 2 Other Children Injured After Drunk Driver Strikes Pedestrians


A serious accident occurred Motzei Shabbos on Old Nyack Turnpike between Hungry Hollow Road and South Madison Avenue, where a drunk driver struck a group of four pedestrians — including children, MONSEY SCOOP REPORTS.

Emergency responders from Hatzoloh EMS, Faist EMS, Spring Hill EMS, Ramapo Police, Spring Valley Fire Department, and Chaverim of Rockland rushed to the scene. The driver, who was trapped in the vehicle, was extricated by members of the Spring Valley Fire Department.

A 4‑year‑old girl, was initially transported by Rockland Hatzoloh paramedics to Nyack Hospital and then transferred to Westchester Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition. A yungerman in his high twenties, is also in critical condition and was taken directly to Westchester Medical Center.

Two other children, were also struck and sustained injuries. Both were transported directly to Westchester Medical Center and are reported to be in stable condition.

  • Baruch Avraham Yisroel Ben Chava Yitta (critical)

  • Chaim Yehuda Ben Esther Kreindel (stable)

  • Efraim Yosef Ben Esther Kreindel (stable)

Old Nyack Turnpike remains closed between Hungry Hollow Road and South Madison Avenue as authorities continue their investigation.
