READY TO PAY THE PRICE? Roughly 1 Out Of 3 Jewish New Yorkers Voted For Antisemite Zohran Mamdani

Roughly one-third of New York City’s Jewish voters cast ballots for Zohran Mamdani, the far-left Democratic socialist and outspoken critic of Israel, in Tuesday’s mayoral election, according to a CNN exit poll.

The survey found that 33% of Jewish respondents backed Mamdani, while 63% supported independent candidate Andrew Cuomo and 3% chose Republican Curtis Sliwa. The poll sampled about 710 Jewish voters, though CNN did not disclose its full methodology or margin of error.

New York City does not collect official voting data by religion or ethnicity, making exit polls and precinct-level analysis the only windows into how the city’s Jewish population — one of the largest in the world outside Israel — voted.

Geographic patterns reveal a sharp split. Heavily Orthodox neighborhoods such as Williamsburg, Boro Park, and Crown Heights delivered overwhelming margins for Cuomo, with some precincts reporting upward of 95% support. In Boro Park, Cuomo’s totals reached as high as 96%, his strongest performance anywhere in the city.

By contrast, Mamdani dominated gentrified areas of Brooklyn and Queens — particularly in Astoria, Bushwick, and parts of Park Slope — where progressive activists powered his campaign.

On Manhattan’s Upper East and Upper West Sides, home to sizable but more politically mixed Jewish populations, Cuomo also held clear but less lopsided majorities.

  1. FACT: A huge percentage of these so-called Jews are NOT Jewish, even though they IDENTIFY as Jewish. They either “converted” through the Reform movement, have only a Jewish father and not a Jewish mother, or were adopted by Jews (seriously, non-Jews can call themselvesJewish just by growing up in a Jewish household).

  2. Maybe, Just maybe, instead of being the kid who gets hit and says “didnt even hurt”, We should collectively take a step back and remind ourselves that we are in Galus.
Stop fighting as if we have power. Try to make amends.

MAMDANI chose in his victory speech to say he is fighting antisemitism. Maybe its insincere, but at least he wants to APPEAR that way.

Maybe instead of trying to get him to agree with us on Israel, we should simply try to meet him where he seems to be willing to engage.

And maybe, maybe that small faction of Satmar had a point…

    Maybe….

  3. 1. Based on the above figures, non-zionist hareidim were just as likely to support Cuomo as other frum Jews. The “Jews” who supported Mamdami were apparently secular persons with Jewish ancestry, and one should note, affluent (at least relative to the frum community).

    2. Based on recent experience going back to at least the Crown Height pogrom in 1991 (which resulted in the Republicans electing both a mayor and governor of New York), most assimilated Jews (“persons of Jewish descent”) believe that anti-Semitism is directly primarily against the non-assimilated Jews (that is to say, our community). From their perspective, Mamdani is not so bad (after all, he wants to kill all those unassimilated Israelis), and will work on chasing the old fashioned frum Jews out of New York.

3.Mamdani’s bark may be worse than his bite. Democratic leaders know the price they paid when David Dinkins and Mario Cuomo fail to act against the Crown Heights Pogrom. And if the Republicans control the White House, they are likely to send in Federal troops if the New York officials encourage or tolerate anti-Semitic violence.

  4. One of the things Hitler wrote in his book about why he hated Jews was because so many of them are against themselves and they’re not loyal to their leaders. I guess not much has changed

  5. Lots of misinformation in this thread, but even if secular jews are just white people….white people also get attacked in subways. There are many targets.
