The Rav of Tzfas, HaRav Shmuel Eliyahu, published an article on the severe crimes of the disgraced Military Advocate General, apart from her role in the leak of the Sdei Teiman video.
HaRav Eliyahu wrote, “Since the beginning of the war, I have accompanied dozens of families of wounded and fallen IDF soldiers, including dozens of yeshiva and kollel graduates, four of whom learned in the hesder yeshiva in Tzfas.”
“Every levaya is painful, but the most painful levayos are of soldiers who were killed because of the Military Advocate General’s distorted morality orders.”
“A wounded soldier from the yeshiva in Tzfas told me that his unit requested that the Air Force bomb a building from which they were being shot at. The Military Advocate General’s office refused to approve it. The soldiers entered the building—he was wounded, and his friends were killed. In other cases they were shot at from a house that wasn’t bombed because of the Military Advocate General and her orders. Sometimes they entered the building and encountered an ambush.”
“It is important that we know that they were killed because of orders and norms that do not exist in any army in the world. International law permits bombing buildings in which there are terrorists, and certainly Jewish law does.
“Her foolish combat orders weakened the ability of the IDF to win the war. She refused to approve attacking Gazan police officers and civilians who were partners in crimes at the outbreak of the war if they weren’t members of terror organizations. She refused to approve an attack on Shifa Hospital, and soldiers were forced to enter the building despite the fact that there was clear intelligence that it was a terror base.
“Someone needs to deliver a series of educational classes to everyone at the Military Advocate General’s office to teach them that Eretz Yisrael belongs to Am Yisrael and the rule of ‘if someone comes to kill you, kill him first.” No war can be won if we continue with the distorted morality that weakens us.
“In order to be victorious in war, we must remember that we are justified and have all the rights and duties to win against our enemies and bring them down to their knees. This is the only way in which wars end in peace.
“We must restore the true moral backbone of Israel—not the hypocritical morality of Harvard, not the distorted morality of the UN—only our true morality.”
