The Association of Community Rabbis (איגוד רבני קהילות) slammed the shocking remarks about harming Israel’s Chief Rabbanut made by Ayelet Hashachar Seidof, the chairwoman of the leftist “Mothers at the Front” group.

Channel 14 on Tuesday evening revealed shocking remarks Seidof made about the Rabbanut in a recent Zoom conversation with members of her group. The report comes after previous reports revealed footage of Seidof openly admitting to her efforts to create chaos within the Chareidi public as part of the effort to bring down the Netanyahu government, including hiring a “Chareidi” advisor.

During the Zoom call, Seidof was heard expressing hatred toward the Rabbanut, declaring that the group members “are dying to burn their offices,” adding that “all they need are matches.”

The Association of Community Rabbis, a Dati Leumi organization comprised of hundreds of Rabbanim who work to strengthen Yiddishkeit and Jewish identity in communities throughout Israel, issued a statement saying, “The Rabbanut is the spiritual backbone of the state, an institution that devotedly serves the entire Israeli public from all circles and sectors. Attempts to sow division within the religious and Chareidi public through agents and manipulations, alongside violent statements, are a shame and a disgrace, and they have no place in a civilized society.”

Lt. Col. (res.) Rabbi Eliav Turgeman, the head of the Association, added, “The outrageous slanderous remarks heard against the Chief Rabbanut constitute a direct continuation of antisemitism throughout the generations. The very existence of the Chief Rabbanut brings great bracha and light to Am Yisrael.”

  1. Tha rabanut is an unnatural, un-Jewish institution left over by the Ottomans. We don’t centralize rabbinic authority absent a Sanhedrin. We follow our own community leaders. The rabanut is an abomination and is defended solely to prop up the graft and patronage networks it supports.

  2. The Chief Rabbinate represents a centralized religious authority whose structure derives from Ottoman administrative practices rather than from classical Jewish legal tradition. In the absence of a Sanhedrin, Jewish law historically recognizes decentralized rabbinic authority, vested in local scholars and communal leadership. From this perspective, the continued authority of the Rabbinate is difficult to justify on halakhic grounds and appears instead to function primarily as an institutional mechanism sustaining entrenched political and patronage systems.

  3. This whole parsha is actually a big Chessed Hashem. This witch and her cronies are ‘Kaplan’ Leftists, who despise RZ (other than the minority of Bennet-style Datilonim who share most of their views and hate) as much as they despise Chareidim. To further their own cause (of bringing down the Netanyahu government) they masqueraded as fighters on behalf of the RZ reservists against the Chareidim. Including the use of agents provocateurs in both camps… Aside from their intra-Chareidi slander and hate campaign. Now, with one slip of her filthy mouth, the whole elaborate charade blew apart, and the RZ, who are actually the most betrayed party, suddenly find themselves in the same boat as the Chareidim. The Chareidi boat being the place that the ‘Kaplan’ chevra place most of the RZ anyway, and which is where they really belong as believing Jews.

PS – There are relatively few people on YWN who actually live in Israel and understand the issues and players involved in real life. Over the past year, how many times did we say that the recent uptick in the perennial draft tumult isn’t about the Chareidim so much as it is about the Left vs. Netanyahu? How many hostile comments from the peanut gallery did we get for saying that? Now you can hear one of the biggest ringleaders explaining it all in her own words. Thank you Ms. Seidof.

  4. So the leftist dont have matches. Do why not stop using your matches to light up your druggie weed joints. What a joke. The leftist are falling apart just as the reform heretics in America. How interesting. Blame it on the lack of matches. That’s a first.

  5. I don’t know if it is possible for a secular individual to do as much damage to the Rabbanut as was done by Chareidi parties that put in place an unqualified and corrupt individual who has since been sentenced to jail for fraud on issues of marriage, and then treated the whole enterprise as a patronage mill for their supporters. The deliberate degradation of the institution of Chief Rabbi is an Avla that is squarely on the achrayus of the Chareidi parties. Preventing a known Talmid Chacham and Posek like Rav Yaakov Ariel from being elected was cynicism of the highest order.
