A potentially catastrophic incident was narrowly avoided on Thursday in Jerusalem, after a fuel tanker fell from a height and crashed into the middle of a major highway near the chareidi neighborhood of Neve Yaakov.

Dramatic video footage shows the tanker plunging directly onto the roadway. Bichasdei Hashem, the truck did not strike any vehicles, and miraculously no injuries were reported.

Fire and rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene after hazardous materials were seen leaking from the tanker. Emergency crews worked quickly to secure the area, prevent a possible explosion or fire, and ensure the safety of motorists and nearby residents.

Authorities said the outcome could have been far more severe, as the highway is typically heavily trafficked during the time of day the incident occurred.

An investigation has been launched to determine how the tanker fell onto the roadway.
