Official sources and officials told Reuters on Thursday that the United States and Iran are “edging toward” a temporary and limited agreement aimed at ending the war that would leave the most complex disputes for future discussions.

According to the report, the memorandum does not mention several crucial demands Washington has insisted on in the past, which Iran has rejected, such as Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium, restrictions on Iran’s missile program, and an end to its support for proxy militias in the Middle East, including Hezbollah.

Additionally, Israel has received information that Iran is insisting that the emerging deal include a clause linking all fronts and halting the war on each of them, a reference to Hezbollah.

Israel believes that Washington has agreed to the clause.

Israel’s security cabinet convened on Wednesday night to discuss the latest developments.

The IDF’s freedom of action in Lebanon has been restricted since the start of the last so-called ceasefire. Meanwhile,ย Hezbollah continues to fire at IDF forces in southern Lebanon, with three killed and almost 40 injured since the “ceasefire” began.

  1. Israel must abide by US instructions to it, as Israel is a client-state of the United States; and President Trump, who did more for Israel than anyone else in its history, is their boss who Netanyahu takes his marching orders from.

  2. Two important facts: The United States FAILED in its efforts to force Iran to stop blocking western shipping which poses the threat of serious economic damage to the US economy, and the Republican chances in the midterms -AND – Due to rising anti-Semitism in the US and Europe, Trump pays no price by stabbing Israel in the back by the US agreeing to refrain from opposing Iranian terrorism as long as it is directed only against Israel or Jews.

  3. How is a US-Iran deal binding on Israel, a sovereign country who is not part of that process or signed on the deal?
Trump has a lot of money, but he hasn’t yet purchased Israel.
