Federal Probe Targets $2.6 Billion in Suspicious Oil Trades Ahead of Iran War Announcements

Federal investigators are probing at least four oil trades worth more than $2.6 billion that were placed shortly before major Iran war announcements by President Trump and senior Iranian officials.

• The trades included more than $500 million wagered minutes before Trump announced he would delay threatened strikes on Iran’s power grid, and another $760 million bet shortly before Iran announced the Strait of Hormuz would remain open.

• Additional trades were placed ahead of a temporary ceasefire announcement and the later extension of the ceasefire.
