The question among Israeli coalition members is no longer whether early elections are on the way but who will ultimately lead the move to dissolve the Knesset.

The situation comes in the wake of the instruction of HaGaon HaRav Dov Landau to the Chareidi MKs on Tuesday to work toward dissolving the Knesset.

Ynet reported on Wednesday that the coalition is expected to submit its own bill to dissolve the Knesset instead of allowing opposition parties to do so, with the intention of allowing it to control the timetable and facilitate the transition to elections under more favorable conditions.

Such a bill could be presented for a preliminary vote as early as next Wednesday, sources told Ynet.

If the coalition does submit a bill, the Chareidi parties are likely to support it. while an opposition-sponsored bill will fail.

Amid the political crisis, the coalition pulled all its bills from the Knesset agenda on Wednesday out of fears it would lack a majority for their approval.
