U.S. Imposes New Sanctions On China, Hong Kong, Iran And Belarus Over Iranian Weapons Procurement Network


The U.S. Treasury Department announced sanctions on nine individuals and entities accused of helping Iran’s IRGC and Ministry of Defense obtain weapons.

The sanctions target companies and facilitators in China and Hong Kong that allegedly supported Iran’s weapons procurement efforts and related financial transactions. Treasury said the move is part of its ongoing “Economic Fury” campaign aimed at disrupting Iran’s military and weapons programs.

At the same time, the State Department imposed sanctions on two entities and two individuals in Iran and Belarus in connection with Iran’s conventional arms activities.
