MK Yisrael Eichler on Tuesday, 22 Sivan was voted in unanimously to head the Knesset Ombudsman Committee. After the appointment he received congratulatory wishes from members of the party�s Degel Hatorah faction despite the ongoing machlokes between Degel and the Agudas Yisrael faction regarding appointments in the 20th Knesset.

Eichler was appointed as a deputy speaker but he complained since that post is more of a title than a position that enables him to work for the tzibur. He sent a letter of complaint to the appropriate officials in the Prime Minister�s Office requesting to head the Ombudsman Committee.

Eichler explains he is a doer and as such, he is less interested in prestigious titles but wants a position that gives him the authority to act to assist the tzibur.
