According to the statement of an IDF soldier to police, he was attacked in Petach Tikvah on Thursday, with the assailant breaking a bottle over his head, knocking him to the ground and stunning him temporarily. The assailant used the moment to make off with the soldier�s weapon.

Police are investigation. While not giving any explanation, investigators are indicating it appears the attack was criminally motivated and not an act of terrorism.
