More Questions Surround Fatal NYPD Traffic Stop

Police are still trying to unravel the details of a deadly police shooting of an unarmed U.S. Army reservist as the man’s family demands answers.

Noel Polanco, 22, was hit by a single bullet after Emergency Services Unit officers pulled over his car early Thursday morning on the Grand Central Parkway.

Investigators say Polanco had been weaving in and out of traffic and initially resisted efforts to pull him over.

A passenger in Polanco’s car, Diane DeFerrari, says police ordered them to put their hands up. However, she says the officer fired as they were being told to put their hands up.

His mother is also disputing investigators’ account of the incident.

“He wasn’t a bad person. He was a great kid, never got himself in trouble with the law and now they’re trying to say that he was trying to reach for a gun or something? Are they crazy? No,” said Polanco’s mother, Cecilia Reyes.

The detective who fired the shot has been identified as Hassan Hamdy, 39.

Police did not find any guns in the car though they say there was a power drill under Polanco’s seat.

The other passenger in Polanco’s car was an off-duty police officer.

Police say she was sleeping at the time of the shooting.

  1. I think we can safely assume that this murderous “cop”, Hassan, is a Muslem. Any minute now, Ray “cover up” Kelly, should be holding a press conference “apologising” for the Anti Muslem film that is causing all this rage! Mr. Hamdy should then get a promotion!

  2. Remember the initial coverup of the muslim at the army base.its all to protect the few scarce peace loving muslims that exist only in the minds of left wing radicals from potential backlash
