Jewish Family R”L Killed In Russian Plane Crash


candle61.gifA Chevra Kaddisha representative along with Russia’s Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar left Moscow on Sunday to the site of a plane crash which left 88 people dead, including a Jewish family of four R”L.

The Boeing-737 traveling from Moscow to the Ural Mountains went down around 3:40 a.m. Sunday as it was preparing to land.

There was no indication of terrorism in the crash.

Flight 821, operated by an Aeroflot subsidiary, carried 82 passengers and six crew members, Aeroflot said in a statement. Among those killed were citizens from the United States, France, Turkey, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Latvia.

According to Ynet, Russian citizens Ephraim and Golda Nachumov and their two small children, Eliyahu and Chava, were the names of the Jewish victims R”L killed in the passenger jet crash.

The Nachumov family members were part of Perm’s Jewish community. They moved to the city from Azerbaijan several years ago. The four were making their way back home after visiting relatives and attending a Simcha in Azerbaijan.
