    What is a good snack to nosh on at night. I get very hungry 4-5 hours after supper time. Any suggestions?

    A Rib-eye Steak with curly fries and a coke 🙂

    Don’t drink too much- you need a good night’s sleep!

    Oatmeal cookies and warm milk are soporific.

    Protein–maybe yogurt, cheese or egg–is a great choice for a bedtime snack

    Really you should keep back from eating at all at night even if you’re hungry. Drink something instead.

    But I sometimes do snack on an ices or fruit. Try not to eat too much more than that though.

    Cereal.

    Only liquids before retiring for the night. Give the stomache a chance to rest and not make it work too hard digesting a lot of food before sleeping. Fruit a good way to start the day before eating breakfast in the morning, because of the fruit fiber.

    AFTER EIGHT, DOUBLE WEIGHT!!

    Sometimes after supper I am really hungry(really!), but I just use all my self control them.

    I’d rather cheat on that choco during the day but after supper- no food.

    It doesn’t pay…try it…

    smartcookie, for a week straight I dieted, no food after supper. It felt great. Sometimes I feel like I will not be able to fall asleep being so hungry. I have such a hard time controling myself. Therefore, I try not to bring cookies and cakes into my house so that I dont give myself the test. Last night…..

    Poster- sounds just like me. I do not allow junk into my house bec I have little self control. That really works. Its the best diet!

    But if cake lands in my house for any reason…then its terrible..

    You may be thirsty and not realize it. Your body sends you “hunger” signals and they are really because you are thirsty.

    realtalk eating a stalk of celery (calming), or a nice juicy carrot loaded with vitamin a are a good choice. They are light to eat as a snack before retiring.

    OK, if you are not fleishig, a piece of cheese is excellent. it is protein, has lots of L-Tryptophans, and calcium, and is light. if you are still fleishig, try some crackers or a rice cake with peanut butter.

    i think if ur milchige and watching ur weight- mehadrin makes this delicious fat free ice cream!!!!

    also try some whole wheat, spelt or oatbran pretzels!!!! believe me their really delicious!!!!

    also salad bag with light dressing can be really filling yet not hard for the stomache- hope this helps!!!1

    yoyo, pretzels are loaded with carbs, but they are filling. A salad bag with a light dressing is a very good idea. I love the idea of fat free ice cream, just the type of food i like!

    I cannot have fruit veggies or milk products and try and stay away from any extra carbs- what am I supposed to eat when I get hungry?

    Realtalk, you could have a grilled chicken cutlet with Pam, or you could make a ceviche with fish or imitation lobster, you could have a can of hearts of palm or popcorn.

    the best diet is to only eat 3 meals a day,but u need lots of self control for that- and it takes 21 days to break a habbit- i know its a long time, but eventually u’ll get used to not eating after supper.try it!

    What about making a Waldorf Salad and keeping it refrigerated for this purpose. The veggies, slices of apple, and walnuts, should fill you up.

    At 5am when you wake up really hungry – you eat NOTHING.(Besides if there’s any medical reason involved).

    Under normal cicumstances, you don’t have to eat every time you’re hungry. Certainly not at 5am.

    Because 5am everyone is hungry as it is abt 10 hours since supper. But as long as ur not fainting from hunger, you should wait another few hrs until breakfast.

    We don’t need to feed our bodies as soon as the last meal was digested.

    As long as your getting 3 nutritious meals a day, and yes of course you can snack on something too. But after supper its best not to eat until you wake up the next morning.

    DON’T EAT!! its not worth it. I recently started dieting and the only three meals i eat r breakfast,lunch, and dinner. I also have two other snacks in the day. NEVER will I allow myself to eat at 5am.

    To the Waldorf salad: I CANNOT have FRUITS or VEGGIES.

    5am was an exaggeration its more like 3 and it is because I haven’t eaten anything but lunch and yes I know it is not healthy!

    To the suggestions of nuts, Thank you it is perfect!

    Realtalk- I can’t believe a person can actually hate chocolate!!

    But anyway, I’m trying to understand if you wake up during the night from hunger, or are you just waking up and you happen to think you’re hungry then?

    If you’re waking up from hunger then you MUST eat a normal meal in the afternoon hours.

    Also, is there any specific reason why you only eat lunch? Because you really should eat a light meal later on(suppertime), this way you’ll avoid eating right before bed. If you’re not eating supper, then of course you’re hungry late at night.

    What do you do if you’re plain and simply in the mood of fressing?! I’m trying to diet but it takes an awful lot of self control not to eat when you’re just “in the mood”. I chew gum but how much gum can you chew?!

    About the fressing, dont we all have the same prob?!!

    Seriously, you gotta try to make urself realistic limits.

    Oh, and keep extra food out of the house. Works best.
