I know many “MO” Jews who are very frum. The differnce between “MO” and not “MO” is the amount we accept and don’t protest the people or families who do not care to live within the halacha of the shulchan aruch and mesorah, in our shules and schools. That is we accept them in our community , and I’m not talking about people who don’t know better. The fact that all we care about is achdus shows that the other issues don’t really bother us. This is a symptom of a fundimental flaw in hashkofa.(I hope I am being clear and you understand what I am trying to say)
I find the regular circle dancing to be without any emotion, just another rote in the present day orthodox Jews life. Why can’t we awaken within ourselvs a bit of true simcha to be misamaich the chosson and kallah? I beleive that the level of self confidence is so low that we don’t hold our participation in a wedding to be of any value.
Even a baalabus can be moser nefesh for learning.
Tho most used yeshivish phrase is chap, as in “do you chap”?
No matter what you say be sure to thank the shadchan for remembering you. This way the shadchan feels appreciated and is likely to keep thinking about you.November 17, 2010 2:21 am at 2:21 am in reply to: 613 Mitzvos Doesn't Automatically Make You A Tzaddik #710263
This vort from R, Ruderman is very true and very hard hitting especially in our generation when we seem to be getting frummer and at the same time frayer by the day. (WIY thank you)
You don’t have to block a driveway to park. Even though it’s Boropark that we are talking about you can still find parking. It might take a little longer but its faster then dealing with the retrobution of a blocked driveway owner.
I never knew that I know how to cook until I got a summer job in a camp kitchen. I discovered that I was a natural cook. I even became the head cook. Now I cook all the time and I am very good as it.
Australian is by far the best accent.

Take 2 slices of square sliced challa. Place slice #1 on plate. Cover with chopped liver. Place 2 slices of turkey roll on top. Cover with good sweet coleslaw. Scatter 6 miled bananna pepper ringes on top, then cover with slice #2. Apply slight downward pressure to blend flavors. Trim anything that came out of the sides, with a fork or your finger. Take a large bite from the northeast corner. Continue eating in that direction. ENJOY!
