That’s how I understood it originally. That’s why I wrote “(ONLY)”. But from LB’s response it seems that she meant …lifetime, thus far. BARUCH HASHEM!

    LB and lilmod ulelamaid

If I wrote ONLY then why would you think that I’m under 35? By writing ONLY, I meant that it is a short amount of time. I thought it implied the opposite of what you derived from it. It’s all relative. Here’s to clarify: for a twenty year old, one month is “ONLY” (roughly, because we are not counting leap years) 1/240th of his life, but for a two-month-old it’s half his life!

**May we all use every precious minute to its fullest!!**

Randomex: I was referring to the quote that I mentioned above- so that’s 1,825 ‘somethings’ that my future self will thank me for. Whatever they might be. I chose that number since the OP said it should be something that I’d be reading in five years from now (5 [years] x365 [for AT LEAST one a day]= 1,825 ‘somethings’. The truth is, I should have wrote 1,826, since there will be 1 leap year within these 5 years!

Lightbrite: those are all good suggestions for what the ‘somethings’ might be. BYW, do you know how many years 1,825 Shabbatot equal to? It’s (ONLY) 35.09…. years.

“Do something today that your future self will thank you for.”

I hope that when reading this in five years, I can thank myself for the (AT LEAST) 1,825 that I did to become a better me!

iPhones Rule: I got so curious about the right/left HAND side thing, so I researched it and here’s what I found:

    ?

1- I suppose that ‘hand’ is used to distinguish from right as in correct. By that logic, we use hand on the other side, too, to distinguish from left as in remaining.

2- Handedness is perhaps the most common way of teaching someone left from right. While there are other natural things that exhibit consistent directionality (the circular flow of water in a drain in a given hemisphere; the rotation of the earth when seen from above a particular pole, etc.) none is as readily accessible to the viewer as her or his own handedness. Most of us know from an early age which of our hands is dominant, and that is labeled by our elders as either right or left, depending on our proclivities (let’s skip the brain dominance discussion for now).

We can then identify whether the direction or side we are considering corresponds to our right or left side, based on our knowledge of our dominant hand. I think the hand reference when discussing side is a reflection (residual) of this basic analysis we learned in our youth.

3- ?Does anyone think it could have something to do with the cadence [the way a person’s voice changes by gently rising and falling while he or she is speaking] in “right-hand side”? In “right side” there is a longer pause between the words. Consider also for instance the fact that people tend to say, “Where’s it at?” and not “Where’s it?”?

I also started crying when I read your post. I’m thinking of you, and I daven that Hashem should give you the strength and wherewithal to overcome this difficult situation that you are going through!!

And regarding the people that bully you: My Pre 1-A sister was once very upset at a girl in her class that constantly bothered others. She told me, “I daven to Hashem that He should help so-and-so stop bothering everyone.” When someone feels the need to put another person down, it’s truly they who have problems!

BE STRONG and may you have much Hatzlacha and Se’ata Dishmaya!!!
