    ubiquitin: “We have a mesora and that doesnt include Techeiles”

    so will we never fulfill this mitzvah again? or will that change with the coming of Mashiach? and if that latter, please explain how.

    we have a Torah, and that DOES include Techeiles.

    Why don’t you direct your question at the con posters? The points are just as valid for them too.

    It seems Bernie Sanders supports it.

    The Zionists may have claimed that but that’s exactly my point – you’re claiming that too. And I’m pretty sure people who say Hallel on Yom Ha’atzmaut are directing their tefilos to HASHEM, not the army.

    Yes – and no one was able to successfully settle the land until the Jews returned following the Holocaust. Coincidence?

    @akuperma:

    1. But it was done 67 years ago – so now what?

    2. By thinking Eretz Yisrael was conquered by “an army” you seem to imply that HASHEM had no role in it and thus your emunah is no better than the people you are denigrating.

    3. Conquering Eretz Yisrael is not “an ordinary thing.”

    Instead of saying there are signs that the arrival of Moshiach is imminent, I’d rather say there are signs that the redemption of the Jewish people seems to be under way:

    1. After 2,000 years of exile, we are witnessing the return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel – probably the biggest sign of all.

    2. The mitzvos are starting to be returned to us, as is evident with the re-emergence of the chilazon and techeiles (yes, I do wear it, especially for this reason).

    Remember that the arrival of Moshiach is much more than a person riding up on a donkey and blowing a shofar – it is the redemption of the Jewish people followed by the redemption of humanity.

    For me personally, when I think about these happenings, I have a lot more feeling when saying “Ani Ma’amin” – because it seems clearer by the day that Moshiach can arrive at any moment.

    TU731 – if the Beis Hamikdash is rebuilt tomorrow, are you going to say we don’t have the mesorah for bringing korbonos?

    Putting the whole mesorah thing aside, unless I missed something I don’t think anyone paskens that one may NOT wear Techeiles; even those who don’t wear it don’t hold it is assur. Having said that, assuming you find the supporting evidence convincing (which it most certainly is), wouldn’t you WANT to wear Techeiles? Don’t you feel privileged to live in a generation that has the opportunity to perform a mitzvah our ancestors only dreamed about? If your great-great-great-grandparents were alive today, do you think they would look for reasons not to wear it or jump at the first opportunity? To me it just seems like many people are looking for all these reasons and excuses not to wear it (i.e. mesorah), which I think is the result of not WANTING to wear it – and I don’t understand why any Torah-observant Jew would want to pass up an opportunity to perform any mitzvah (let alone one as easy and beautiful as this).

    Koton – you’ve proved your point, though avoided my question. It’s clear that you feel shaving is assur – but what about all the Rabbanim who don’t hold like that?

    Thanks you, koton, for paskening that we are not allowed to shave. Now what about all the Rabbanim that didn’t assur shaving? Are they ignorant?
