actually, tax wise, pecenagewise there are more chareidim working than there are chilonim.
even those lucky bnei torah that are learning, they are paying alot more of their monthly meager income to food taxes etc, than the average chiloni family. they have larger families and just to feed them costs them huge amounts. not to mention the private school systems that save the country from supporting them.
please, enough “shtuyot”. the issue here is not about money.

how about sendig her a checkbook, either yours – signed, or with her on the account and her checkbook, she can then cash the checks for a small fee at any moneychanger without having to go to a bank.
how about depositing $$$ into a family members american bank acount and they can give her the check from their account.

contact “Irgun Shiurai Torah” for either recordings of such shiurim in all languages, as well as live shiurim. they do a GREAT job to be mezakeh klal yisroel in these issues.

i remember when a prominent family in lakewood made a bar mitzva and invited reb dovid z”l. he was so happy that he asked to speak. of course he was given the opportunity and he said a few words. years later he would tell people that he spoke by so-and-so’s bar mitzva. how many of us would really give such a person the oportunitiy to speak at their sons bar mitzva but it was someting he remembered his whole life.

1-torah im derech eretz means bBOTH together, not only the working part.
2-the rest of the mishna – that through both the person is saved from sin. nowadays, it’s safer to sit and learn in prder to be saved from sin. going out to work will only bring you closer to sin.
3-reb yishmael is correct that many have tried and were not matzliach. that’s why most of klal yisroel doesn’t learn. those who can are from the minute.
4-that that the gemara says that many have tried like r’ yishmael and were not succesful, the gemara also says “rubam begezel” does that mean we shoul all steal to be mekayem the gemara?
5-the wifes ONLY zchus is by helping her husband and children learn, those who don’t want to be “brainwashed” should not fight to get their children into these brainwashing scools. there are enough modern scools that would gladly accept your chidren.
Above all— do your kids a favor and don’t “brainwash” them. those who were not matzliach on their own should admit it and not bass it on and try to justify it to calm their concience.
