    2 things I noticed:

Anyone saying to vote for Biden has no idea about his political views, especially towards judaism. If you knew a thing or two about Biden, you’d be shaking thinking where things could lead.

Anyone saying vote Biden is because they dont like trump- and not because they like Biden.
JUST BECAUSE YOU DON’T LIKE TRUMP’S MIDOS, DOESN’T MEAN YOU VOTE AGAINST HIM. You better learn what Biden stands for, before claiming to vote for him. Notice, no one here saying “Vote Biden” is saying why. They’re all saying why not to vote trump.

If you think its camp color war Red vs Blue- let me tell you: this matters for your future. Dont say “vote biden” unless you know what he stands for and not because you dislike trump. If you come here telling frum Yidden to vote Biden, you BETTER know about his policies. Which you CLEARLY don’t.

I had in mind that hashem should bless us with a good president, who is favorable to yidden and allows us to grow in yiddishkeit.
I didnt have anyone specific in mind, because hashem ultimately controls all rulers of the world, so who he chooses to be the president doesnt matter. Trump could go bad, or Biden could snap. So they’re just a name. They rule as hashem desires.

If someone has the flu, yes stay home. Granted they say covid is 10x more contagious than flu, but if you Go around like you dont care and someone else gets sick? Their blood is on your hands.

Granted BH we have a vaccine that brings flu numbers down every year. But nonetheless if you’re careless, and around others, I’d say if someone even misses going to learning torah because some careless person passed them the flu- their missed Torah learning is on your hands too (the original careless infected person)

If someone is positive for covid, and goes around without telling anyone, they are likely considered a murderer.
If you went around and find out afterwards that you’re positive, dont be embarrassed to tell others that you were near about your positive test. It could save lives

You dont think the hanhallah and rabbieim forbid smoking in every yeshiva? I dont know of any yeshiva where it’s not weekly reenforced.

The buchrim want to fit in, so they follow their “cool” friends. Hanhallah does more than you can imagine to crack down.

That being said, when I was in yeshiva, the guys who had good self esteem and didnt feel the need to “look cool” as well as those parents that instilled the negativity of smoking/drinking/drugs- where the ones who’s kids stayed away.

Drill in the disgustingness of smoking and drinking from an early age. And keep emphasizing every time they see someone smoking how bad it is.
My parents CONSTANTLY did that w me, and I’ve never smoked or drank alcohol (other than kiddush wine) in my life.

I also never felt a need to feel cool with the cool buchrim because I always felt I was cooler than then by not smoking- and that stemmed from youth self esteem.

It’s not the parents faults. It’s not hanhallahs faults. Everyone is genuinely trying their best. I’m just saying for those who think their child cant be convinced- you’re wrong. Every bachur could be convinced if some properly.

    @2scents,
Correct. Literally zero. It’s because I was in bed with a high fever (103-105) that my body didn’t need as much oxygen compared to days that I would normally be up and about. So I didn’t notice it at all.
You’re correct that most people who had symtoms barely had anything happen to them, however no one is saying to “keep on mesuring”. You can easily find someone who will lend you one, and check it twice a day is more than enough. I left it by my bedside and checked every 4 hours, but my experience with corona was that it takes a day or so to drop significantly.
But to tell EVERYONE that there’s no need to check their O2 saturation unless they have shortness of breath or the symtoms you described is far from the truth. And not just my first hand experience, look at how many others are arguing with you here. And EVERYONE in the jewish community knows someone personally who this virus effected, so everyone here speaks either first or second handed.

    2cents,
Not only do I disagree with you, you’re VERY wrong. Many people couldnt be saved because when you’re laying in bed with Covid, you dont feel a shortness of breathe until it’s too late.
I speak of this first hand, and from hearing from many others directly

I had corona back in March. I was monitoring O2 early, and when my oxygen dropped to 88 after a week, I went to the hospital and was able to to get oxygen and not need intensive care. Doctor told me catching low %O2 was VERY good.

I didnt feel ANY shortness of breathe, but O was VERY much out of full lungs.

Like OP said- if you have corona, get a pulse oxy. Monitor your breathing and pulse. You might not feel shortness of breathe until it drops to 75-80%- and that can cause FAR more damage.

It’s a very cheap piece, and only costs a small battery to us.

Dont argue on amazing advice, one that saved my life
Or significant damage; and many others I know personally.

Some places could be expensive, starting at $750 for just a weekend. Then you need to arrange food to.

That’s why my wife and I frequently do the Raleigh hotel. Just pay for the upgraded room (the earlier you arrive, the nicer the room) and food is included. It’s basic heimish food, no shortage, nothing fancy but more than satisfying. Their highest level room plus food is $699 for a shabbos. Lowest room is $588. (Room options are $275, $325, $375. Food is $$129/PP. Check in Friday, out Sunday)
Mostly Chassidushe crowd (shiurim are yiddish) (I’m litvish) they have like 2 bungalow colonies as well with nice grounds. Dining room has mechitzas.

For just 2 adults- I recommend.

Stop worrying about the summer and other things so much further down the line. Hashem is begging us for a last chance to do teshuva before moshiach. He wants more takers. And all you care about is summer vacation.

Wake up. Look at the status of the world. Nevuos.

Amazing how so many still worried about the next buck, business plans for “after this is done”

You’re gonna miss out by not focusing on teshuva.
