Can someone explain to me why CY milk never reaches anywhere near the expiration printed whereas the Cholov Akum does? We have thrown out gallons of CY milk. it simply does not last. What are they doing wrong?
In 21 years of marriage bli ayin hara, I have never asked my wife to say over a posuk in Tanach. My daughter is being driven crazy by having to memorize every single commentary on every posuk. Isn’t it enough to just know the story and maybe one perush? All the sweetness of learning is removed by this silly method of “learning.” This method of teaching makes Torah into a burden unfortunately. Instead of memorizing every single persush on every posuk, focus on the beauty of the message.
If you find this behavior so despicable, then why don’t you go to a different bungalow colony. My colony has no such problem. You apparently are amused by it and that is why you stay.
I do not believe that those people that were never counsellors in camp learn better than those people who were counsellors. The proof is before your eyes.
I believe that parents should have a lttle more confience in themseleves and their children. simply becuase you do not receive an award is not a reason to despair. I would hope that you have your priorities in order – health, happiness, parnossoh, etc. If you focus on what you have and appreciate it, you would not be looking at your neighbor.
Moreover, it is very narrow minded to view these graduation ceremonies as the end all. How do you know what challenges the valedictorian will encounter 20 years from now? Maybe G-d granted the person this honor to give him or her the strength to face some future challenge in life – a challenge you may be glad not to have.
I have friends in my class who were C students that are now major wealthy. Apparently, they did not need the scholastic abilites and accollades in order to “make it.” Focus on your child’s strengths and develop them.
Let schools bestow honors to acknowledge the prominence of education and scholastic achievement. Be strong to recognize your child’s unique achievements. Let peopel be appreciated for their own unique abilities. No one has everything. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Be strong.
The tznius issue in the bungalow colonies and developments in the Catskills dwarfs the tznius problem is the City. I was in a heimeshe bungalow colony where the men were rating the women as they walked by. I was invited to a barbeque where copules were fixated on discussing the infidelities of other couples.
What’s with the thin craze? We know of frum women who are starving themselves eating nothing but salads all day. Everyone wants to show off how thin they are as a way of showing some sort of accomplishment. Tell the women to eat normally and not to starve themselves, so they won’t parade around. Let them feel accomplished in more important endeavors.
Women in the workplace is a big part of the problem. You can’t dress, act and look like a good ol’ fashioned yiddishe Mamma on Wall Street.
