It would be a further sign of Israeli weakness and therefore a major security threat to the country were he to resign just now.

Whether he accepts responsibility or not, he will be booted out at the ballot box (or by some other means) at the earliest opportunity, so it makes no practical difference.

Perhaps, if the military operation goes “well” and the electorate begin leaning towards him again, he might be in a secure enough position to try to curry their favour by admitting a few of his failures.

    He’s a fairly stiff-necked fellow.

Saying yoga is kosher is a bit like saying wearing a problematic Indian sheitel is kosher as long as you’re not engaging in AZ while wearing it.

@ Alwasy ask questions: Thanks for the stats but I’m not sure where your point about “upper class” (however that may be defined) comes into the discussion. I certainly did not mention the “upper class” or suggest that it is a bad thing.

My point was about culture as much as econimics. In Europe there is a cultural middle class, i.e. a class which defines itself as such according to its cultural and intellectual interests and output, rather than accourding to materialism and money. It is harder to measure the wealth or economic significance of this class relative to other classes, as people of all backgrounds may see themselves as being part of it.

America has a small middle class, culturally and economically-speaking, compared to most Western nations. As is well-known, what’s left of it is shrinking by the year and has been doing so for a very long time. No surprise that frum families, with all the extra outlay, find themselves especially short-changed.

If the election officials say there was little or no fraud – as they have all done – then the election officials are deemed corrupt. If the Judges reject the ‘evidence’, then the Judges are corrupt. With this mindset it never ends.

Yes, Joseph – even the so-called Spanish flu came from that part of the world. Is it political correctness that prevents our politicians and leaders from calling a spade a spade?

It’s known as covid 19 because it passed to humans in 2019. There are many different types of coronavirus.

    Yes.

This coronavirus like many others was spread through bats and other animals sold in Chinese markets. It’s a strong part of their culture.

Muslims can’t make pilgrimages to Mecca. Christians can’t celebrate Easter – a festival of life – together. Jews have had to make pesach apart, perhaps for the first time ever. Even in the camps we were together!

It’s phenomenal who the Chinese think they are – and they must learn a lesson, through economic sanctions or the like, until they give up these markets.

For years now, many Americans (including the president himself) have been urging a reduction on our dependency on China; that we make our own goods once again, from cars to hospital gowns. If not now, when?

IsraeliYud, not waiting for apologies either – even though these attitudes have cost many Jewish (and other) lives.

I’m in Europe and while our yidden began to die, we read from America: “who cares about the rest of the world, this can never happen here! “

Shame that it takes the death of gedolim to unite us. Did we not learn that lesson before?

When are the deniers going to stop saying that this is jut a bad case of flu? The infectiousness of corona is several times that of flu and is what makes it so dangerous. Our health system is simply not equipped to deal with the sheer number of patients destined to converge in the ICU in the coming weeks. In America we have no co-ordinated medical infrastructure, and even in northern Italy – one of the richest, if not THE richest part of the world in terms of combined GDP and health and other infrastructures – the numbers overwhelmed us through simple lack of doctors, ventilators and beds needed at a given time (unlike flu where the number of cases are spread over a greater period of time). What part of Cuomo’s estimate today that we need 140,000 more hospital beds in NY in the coming weeks than are currently available do akuperma and others not understand ? How many gedolim and yidden old and young need to die before we face the facts and get a grip? In their cynicism and in advocating “business as normal” , how many lives have they cost us ?

What is the meaning of college when a prospective Masters student is unaware that a sentence begins with an upper case letter? Give your subject – not necessarily all the politics and dubious ‘hashkofos’ that go along with it – a little more respect, and your studies will be a more profitable and rewarding endeavor. They’ll also pass more quickly!
