IDF Military High School Students Attacked in Meah Shearim With Dirty Diapers

When students of the Ohr Etzion Bnei Akiva affiliated High School arrived in Meah Shearim earlier in the week, they received a most unpleasant welcome, dirty diapers and insults. The day trip was intended to provide the students from the dati leumi tzibur to get a look at a chareidi lifestyle, but the peek that received from some residents was a most unwelcome one.

Area Zealots spotted the teens in IDF uniform and began pelting them with garbage and soiled diapers. Their arrival in Meah Shearim followed a visit to the Chevron Yeshiva, part of a day intended to acquaint them with different streams of chareidi life in Eretz Yisrael. Ynet reports the shouts included “Nazis get out!”

One eyewitness is quoted in the Ynet report telling chareidi journalist Yaki Adamker that the group was warned to arrive in regular clothing, not IDF uniforms.

Rabbi Micha Kletzhandler, head of the Ohr Etzion Yeshiva said in response to the incident: “We teach our students the splendid values of the Torah, the Jewish people and the Land of Israel – the same Torah that commands us to honor all people in general and every Jew in particular.

Ynet quotes the rav adding the Second Beis HaMikdash was destroyed because of sinas chinam and “We, who are deep inside the redemption process ahead of the construction of the Third Temple with G-d’s help, are unwilling to destroy what has already been built so far.”

He explains that is why his students and staff opted not to respond to the assaults and insults aimed at them but opted to continue walking in uniform, proudly, “like the soldiers of King David and Yehoshua, both knowing how to combine the book and the sword.”

  1. and the IDF wants to draft the people who throw dirty diapers – and give them automatic weapons??????????????????????

  2. Why did they go there? It is well know that Meah Shearim has one of the highest concentrations of nut jobs in the country. There are hundreds of chareidi communities in Israel and a few dozen just in Yerusaliim alone. Either whomever organized this trip was looking for an incident or was not particularly bright. These heretics thrive on these incidents both psychologically and financially.

  3. What a chillul Hashem these morons are… Only rivaled by the kiddush Hashem of the fine young cadets and their Rav. I hope those who fling dung at other Jews are “rewarded” appropriately.

  4. The money quote

“that the group was warned to arrive in regular clothing, not IDF uniforms.”

They were coming to learn in your beis medrish and see the “beauty” of your lifestyle and they are met with dirty diapers and being called Nazis..now I’m just waiting for the claims that these were just the actions of “a few zealots” as per standard operating procedure.

  5. What a chilul Hashem and disgrace.
If there is a video, the culprits should be found and let everyone see who they really are. Just because it happened in Mea Shearim does not mean they are from Mea Shearim. There are too many loafers that would be better off in the army than looking to see where they could show how “HOLY” they are when they really are not.
