HaGaon HaRav Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita visited Yerushalayim to attend a hesped for Zev Wolfson z”l, who was niftar last month. The gadol hador used the opportunity to make his annual visit to the Belzer Rebbe Shlita, where the two exchanged brochos and Shana Tova wishes.
When R’ Shteinman arrived, he refused to be seated, and only agreed to sit in the rebbe’s presence after the rebbe insisted that the Rosh Yeshiva honor him by being seated in his residence so they may exchange brochos ahead of Rosh Hashanah.

The seemingly minor acts of respect to one another (e.g. not sitting down first) demonstrate the extremely high level of basic human skills and instincts these gadolim posess and we can learn from, as much as we do from their spoken divrei torah and musar.
