Tragedy struck in the Torah city of Bnei Brak on Sunday, 8 Elul 5772. A 55-year-old avreich, a father of nine was niftar. The niftar z�l got up from shiva for his sister on Thursday.

Rav Avrohom Peretz Z�L complained of difficulty breathing in his home on Sfas Emmes Street. Hatzalah was summoned shortly after 10am, and Gush Dan EMTs arrived in a timely fashion, beginning appropriate treatment. An ambulance was dispatched to transport the avreich to a hospital. As they were transferring him to the ambulance he collapsed into cardiac arrest.

Resuscitation efforts including advanced life support failed and he was pronounced dead.
