Monticello Police are currently investigating the death of a pedestrian on Broadway in the village of Monticello that occurred at 10:00PM on Monday evening 7/14/14.

Michael Farris age 49 of Monticello was struck by a 2006 Mazda motor vehicle being operated by a 21 year-old Monticello male while traveling in an easterly direction on Broadway near the intersection of St. John Street. Farris was transported by Mobile Medic Ambulance to CRMC in Harris where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was screened for drugs and alcohol and results were negative. An investigation is continuing and no charges have been filed.

The Monticello Fire Dept. also assisted at the scene of the accident.
