Emergency personnel were on the scene of a serious crash involving a motorcycle on the NYS Thruway on Tuesday afternoon.

Kiryas Joel Hatzolah along with local emergency personnel were dispatched to the NYS Thruway in the southbound direction around 4:30PM. The exact location of the accident is just past the Harriman Toll Plaza.

At least one victim suffered serious injuries and was being airlifted to a trauma center. The landing zone was on the highway – bringing traffic on the July 4th Holiday to a standstill.

Those travelling to NYC from Upstate NY should consider alternate routes [“Old 17” or Route 6 to the Palisades.]
