Following Two Rockets Fired at Israel, IDF Strikes Back in Gaza

The IDF spokesperson’s department issued a statement on Thursday stating that the IDF launched a two-prong attack on two confirmed terror locations in the Gaza Strip. The attack came after two rockets were fired from the strip at Israel. Israel’s red alert siren sounded in the Sderot region, luckily the rockets didn’t make it out of the Gaza area.

The Defense Ministry has raised the level of preparedness of the soldiers should violence erupt in the wake of Tumps’ statement yesterday recognizing Jerusalem.

Reacting to the statement made by President Trump, Palestinians held large-scale demonstrations that involved disturbance of the peace in Gaza and East Jerusalem.

Both Hamas and Fatah immediately condemned Trumps’ statement and said that they were not helpful to restarting the peace process.

Hamas Leader Ismail Hanniyeh issued a call for Palestinian across the country to begin a new intifada.

“We are hereby calling on all of our brethren to open the third Intifada against the occupation and the Zionist enemy. We are working hard to eradicate these issues internally as well.”
