Three Washington DC Synagogues Vandalized Overnight


hate crimes3.jpgPolice are searching for suspects who vandalized signs at three synagogues in Montgomery County over night – defacing signs signs supporting Israel. The possible hate crimes took place at the Kehilot Shalom Synagogue in Gaithersburg, Congregation Tikvat Israel in Rockville and the Silver Spring Jewish Center in Wheaton.

  1. According to the Washington Post, the incidents did not happen last night. They took place between August 20 and September 3. Each incident on its own date.

  2. 3 and 4: Political correctness notwithstanding, yes, it matters, because there’s a Hallachic difference between an Orthodox Shul and a Conservative or Reform building of worship.

    And, no, it’s not OK to vandalize ANY religious building. Not, at least, until Eliyahu comes and tells us which buildings are Botei Avoda Zarah.

    There are no Conservative or Reform Jews, only Conservative or Reform clergy, who are chotei u’machatei es horabim.
