Boro Park: Many Expensive Fur Coats Stolen From DICCI Store

bp shomrim logo1.jpgBoro Park Shomrim have informed YWN that the DICCI store, located on 13th Avenue near 50th Street – was broken into last night. A source tells YWN that more than 2 dozen coats were taken, some of them expensive fur coats. Shomrim and the NYPD searched the area for the suspects, but ended the search empty handed.

Security cameras with footage of the burglary are currently being analyzed by the NYPD detectives.

If anyone has any information of this incident, please call Boro Park Shomrim at 718-871-6666. Additionally, Shomrim urge every store-owner reading this (in any area), to make sure that your establishment has security gates on the store-front. Statistics show that most times that a thief starts cutting a gate apart he is noticed and police arrive before a theft can occur.

  1. Sometimes burglars sell stuff on ebay on what appear to be legitimate companies-they should see if any of the coats are on ebay.

  2. Every robbery is a tragedy–The loss of Yiddishe Gelt!

However, we need to carefuly consider whether it is a benefit to the Hareidi community to bring in women’s stores that specialize in Haute Couture–which is just another fancy name for BigDei Pritzus!

  3. why is it untznius to have a fur coat store???!!!
they’re totally tznius!! if they didn’t have a store in boro park they’d go some where else to get them!!! people need warm coats for the winter!!
now, im not saying they should go out and get the most expensive ones!! but to each its own.
    p.s i like # 5! good1!!!

  4. What is wrong with purchasing a fur coat? Why isn’t a woman allowed to wear a fur coat ? Why do people always have to make stupid comments like #8 made that this is a wake up call. Why don’t you feel sorry for the store in Boro Park ,that he was robbed. By the way just for your information plenty of non Jewish people own fur coats. People purchase fur coats because they want to be warm so don’t begrudge them.

  5. On the video there were two indian looking men dressed in nice suits. This was done at 4:01 AM.

On the video you see them walking by the store a few times then smashing the door and running inside and grabbing 12 expensive fur coats.

These guys were also casing the store the last few days according to witensses in Boro Park.

These guys will get caught and I’m sure many of YW readers have seen the guys without realizing it but the store owner, on the detectives advice was told NOT to share the video the evidence publicly.

I am sure that if we were able to see these type of videos more of these crooks would be caught.

Shomrim does a great job for the fact of “sharing ” information when needed.

Unfortunately the NYPD, FBI and many other agencies in the USA are still with their big ego’s in deciding to never share vital information with the public.

  6. Just my two cents, do we really need a store like this in boro park. Its meant to look like a 5th ave store, you can look right through it, really could they have not have made a more simple store. It just to make things more grandiose, and more grandiose, were are we heading, for more competion between women. The robbinam are begging to tone it down, i feel bad for the theft but if ganovem are envious of whats in the store and wants to steal from there, maybe its over done and it does not pass for us.

  7. I THINK THEY DID US BORO PARKERS A GREAT SERVICE BY OPENING THIS STORE ON 13TH AVENUE. WHY DO WE HAVE TO SHLEP TO MANHATTEN, LOEHMANS, ETC. FOR CLOTHES? IF I CAN BUY NICE, UP-TO-DATE, CLOTHES, ALL MADE WITH KOSHER HEMLINES AND NECKLINES IN BORO PARK, I CAN HAVE MORE TIME TO BE WITH MY FAMILY, AND EVEN GIVE OTHER FAMILIES IN BP PARNASSAH. IT’S A WIN-WIN SITUATION FOR EVERYBODY.

  8. I agree with Aidelknaidel. Originally I walked into the store out of curiousity..just to brouse, and see what this new beautiful store has to offer, besides it’s glamorous looks.. I was so pleasently shocked and surprised to see that not only do they design very tasteful clothing, with utmost Tznios. Their prices are low and affordable. I usually shop for bargains uptown and downtown. No reason to, anymore! For less than $1,000.00 dollars I shopped for my daughter and myself three dressy outfits for Sheva Brachas!!! couldn’t even find this bargain at Loemans or syms or TJ-Max..
Why is everyone so alarmed about this beautiful store?! I don’t find it looking like Manhatten. I didn’t see any pantsuits, mini skirts or other horrible outfits that you see in Manhatten. On the contrary..only kosher tznios clothing. Very friendly and very Frum salesladies. What more can you ask for?! Cool all the jealousy and cruelty, and let there be Shalom and peace by Klal Yisroel so we can merit the Geula Shlaima BB”AMEIN
