BUILD THAT WALL! Trump Has Not Built A SINGLE Mile Of New Border Fence

The Trump administration has not installed a single mile of new wall in a previously fenceless part of the U.S.-Mexico border in the 30 months since President Trump assumed office, despite his campaign promise to construct a “big beautiful wall.”

In a statement last week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the federal agency overseeing border barrier construction, confirmed that all the fencing completed since Trump took office is “in place of dilapidated designs” because the existing fence was in need of replacement.

The agency said that it had built 51 miles of steel bollard fence with funding that was set aside during fiscal 2017 and 2018. But while the funding was meant both to replace outdated walls and to place barriers where there previously had been none, the government has only completed the replacement projects. The projects to secure areas with no fence are still in the works.

The 50 miles of completed replacement barrier is a 10-mile gain since early April. In Trump’s two and a half years in office, his administration has installed an average 1.7 miles of barrier per month, and none of it in areas that did not previously have some sort of barrier. A total 205 miles of new and replacement barrier has been funded in the two and a half years since Trump took office.

  1. This is why we need to recognize the MSM as a curse to our generation. The reason Trump could not succeed in building any new wall is because of the DemocRats, whose entire political agenda is to obstruct anything this president tries to do. They did so as minority in the House, and have escalated their agenda to open attacks. Show me a single DemocRat that is attempting to anything at all about border security. It’s not about Trump. It’s the success these evil DemocRats have had in stopping the building of the wall or any funding for it. I hope and pray that the failure to enact useful immigration reform become a curse to the DemocRats. They truly deserve a huge disgraceful downfall.

  2. Congress won’t let him. And under Amercian law, such decisions rest with the Congress. It more or less proves that contrary to what the Democrats say, Trump is acting as a constitutional president regardless of how much he whines on Twitter about having to do so (in all fairness to the Donald, he never before had to deal with a Board of Directors he didn’t control).

Your contempt for the intelligence of the readership is showing. Congress has to “fund” the wall. No matter how much Trump can squeeze out of Mexico one way or another he still can’t use that money to “fund” the wall because such money goes to the (for lack of a better word) the US treasury until Congress releases it. Mexico could lay a trillion dollars in cash on the table and give it directly to Trump, and yet Trump could not use a penny of it without “funding” from Congress.

  4. Why didn’t Trump get his funding for the Trump Wall when the Republicans had a House majority?
Why does Trump keep talking about the many new miles of wall he has built?
Why are American taxpayers paying for the wall that Trump said Mexico would pay for? Is it being double billed?

  5. Trump himsef has said over 30 times in the past 3 months (both in Tweets and in response to questions) that his administration ahd COMPLETED over 150-350 miles of NEW fencing (depending on the whatever number came into his mind). He knows its a LIE but he apparently has convinced himself that the Trumpkopf followers will believe whatever he says even when his own administration says its untrue. Apparently, the latter is correct.

  6. The bottom line is that Mr. Trump says whatever he feels will keep his audience happy at a particular time. He doesn’t think out what he says, because before he was president he never had to worry about it, being the boss. This is the first time in his life he is being held accountable for what he says and does, and I don’t think he’s quite got the hang of it yet.
