AAA Says Gas Hits $4.00 Across Country

gas_empty1.jpgAAA and the Oil Price Information Service say the national average price for a gallon of regular gas rose to $4.005 overnight from $3.988. But consumers in many parts of the country have already been paying well above that price for some time.

Gas is expected to keep climbing, putting greater pressure on consumers and businesses, because the price of oil is soaring in futures markets. Light, sweet crude shot up nearly $11 a barrel Friday and approached $140 for the first time.

Along with higher fuel costs, consumers are also contending with higher prices for food and other goods because of rising transportation costs.

  1. If the whole iraq war was for oil and had nothing to do with WMD’s I would be fine with that. But we are spending 10 billion a month on iraq, for what ! 4 dollars a gallon.
When I hear rush and shaun defend this war I really believe they are just paid tools of the republicans.
Being against this war has nothing to do with consevitive or liberal. Oits about having the humility to admitt we made a really dumb error.

  2. 2 & 3 through Common sense out the window!

Saddam should have been taken out even if we knew he had no WMD, because he was a danger to us!

It is the fault of the liberals that we are still in Iraq. If only back in the beginning we would have dealt appropriately with the terrorist, taken them out by storm EVEN if some so called innocent people get killed in the process, (Oh L’Rosha Oh L’shcheino), we would have been out of there with much less damage & dead people AND the world would have been a better place.

It is only because of the liberal Ideology of “NO torture” ….. That brought more suffering to the world

So you 2 ignorant people, wake up and smell the terrorists & your anti torah Ideology and get help!

  3. Where were all of you opposing the war when the war first broke out? Now all the Johnny come lately’s stick their nose out when the going isn’t so good.

  4. …I’m not referring to anyone specifically; but all these people who now oppose the war were nowhere to be found in ’03. If someone truly opposed it, he would’ve voiced himself then, not now.

  5. I didn’t oppose the war in 03 and I do now. Where was I? In a state of stupidity. My post 9-11 stress helped me believe in thw wmd’s or that going into iraq would help us.
Its never to late to admitt stupidity. I admitt. This war is by far the stupidest thing since vietnam.
I can be a true conservitve and admitt this was a mistake.
Just becausr liberals are against the war doesn’t make the war right.

  6. Then you your not against going to war, but rather against continuing the war — a completely different position.

Once your in a war, pulling out (in surrender or otherwise) is a strategic decision. Even if going to war WAS a mistake, it may be as great a mistake to pull out.

What is interesting is until the post-war (WWII that is) generation, Americans may have supported or opposed going to war PRIOR to America’s armed forces engaging in war. Once war broke out, everyone (essentially) supported the war effort. Even IF they opposed it PRIOR to the outbreak.

  7. charlie – reread my comment. I said the pre-WWII generation. Korea and Vietnam, as you know, occurred AFTER WWII.

Additionally, I said before the war anyone felt free to support or oppose it. AFTER it broke out, it was universally supported.

And finally, I remind you that the American people RE-ELECTED Bush 43 AFTER the outbreak of the War in Iraq.

  8. I enjoy the back and forth.
There is no easy solution but I think that if we are in Iraq to have boots on the ground in Irans backyard so we can contain them , then fine. That makes sense.
But this whole talk of fighting insurgents and al-quieda in iraq is nonsense. Iraq can never be democratic. Arabs don’t know or believe in democracy. They believe in clans. Bring demecracy to Iraq is an undoable joke. The only man who was able to bring order to that country was Saadam. Evil yes. But so are the Saudi’s.
There is no doubt that pulling out now would be costly. But at 12 BILLION A MONTH I am willing to proudly cut and run!

  9. Thx. If we would say that things would be clearer. Until then we are stuck in a civil war with hatred dating back longer than America has been in existance.
