NARCISSISTIC HUBRIS: Fauci Declares: ‘I Represent Science’

Dr. Anthony Fauci elevated his ego yet again on Sunday, claiming in an interview that he “represents science.”

Republican Senator Rand Paul recently slammed the White House chief medical advisor for “obfuscating the truth” about the National Institutes of Health’s funding for gain-of-function research, which some now believe caused the Covid-19 pandemic, but Fauci dismissed the criticism as “noise.”

“Anybody who’s looking at this carefully realizes that there’s a distinct anti-science flavor to this, so if they get up and criticize science, nobody’s going to know what they’re talking about,” Fauci said on CBS’ Face the Nation program. “But if they get up and really aim their bullets at Tony Fauci, well people can recognize that there’s a person there, so it’s easy to criticize, but they’re really criticizing science because I represent science.”

Sen. Paul responded to Fauci, saying it is “absolute hubris” for the scientist to claim that he “represents science.”

“It’s astounding and alarming that a public health bureaucrat would even think to claim such a thing, especially one who has worked so hard to ignore the science of natural immunity,” Paul wrote on Twitter.

Senator Ted Cruz excoriated Fauci as well for the comment, saying the scientist is an “unelected technocrat who has distorted science and facts in order to exercise authoritarian control over millions of Americans.”

  1. Feel free not to post.
Ever since this new varient came on the scene, possibly every article you posted on this website had an anti medical anti science bias. Please don’t let yourself be partly responsible for any lives of people that are lost as a result of getting influenced of misinformation and thereby not taking the necessary precautions.

  2. He is certainly more representative of “science” than Cruz is representative of “principle”. His seemingly endless adoration and veneration of the Trumpkopf has twisted him into a pretzel where he literally changes his positions mid-sentence to conform to Trump’s latest press release. He even let Trump trash his wife and father and begged for “more” and then explained his family’s humiliation by Trump as “just politics”.

  3. Totally nuts to think that an actual scientist might represent science! It would like a talmid chachim suggesting that he represents the Torah view on something. How crazy – complete and utter hubris!

  4. Fauci definitely represents science…the evil side of science. The mass murderer was involved in the gain of function research here in the US until that research was shut down and so he continued with his shenanigans, which he undoubtedly knew will cost lives, in the Wuhan lab in China. He is the face of evil and belongs behind bars for the rest of his life

  5. Stevenn, criticizing Fauci is neither anti-medical nor anti-science. Fauci is a fraud, and you are a fool for believing in him.

Katan Shebiktanim, Cruz is principled; you are not. You don’t come to Cruz’s little finger.

M, Fauci is not a scientist, he’s a bureaucrat, a fraud, and a megalomaniac. Rand Paul is an actual medico, who does understand science, and he is speaking the truth.

  6. The YWN interpretation of Fauci’s statement is wrong. Fauci clearly did not mean to say that he, and only he, represents science. He was saying that some people, e.g., Rand Paul, M.D., will not attack science directly but will attack Fauci as an alternative representative of science.

And speaking of hubris, who said “Only I can fix it.”?

  7. Milhouse – Rand Paul might once have been a decent clinical ophthalmologist, but is not in any way a scientist (any more than you could call yourself a talmid chacham, even if you once learned in yeshiva). Anthony Fauci is an exceptionally kind and caring, thoughtful, intelligent and accomplished scientist, whose work has improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of people over decades of dedicated service to science, this country, and its people. Fauci faithfully represents the best of science.

  8. *”and I Alone can fix it”
Whoever said or believed such hubris has no business telling me what qualifies as science.

  9. And to all others – Anthony Fauci is a serious scientist who has won dozens of awards for his many contributions to public health and science. Recipients of these prizes are typically chosen by large groups of widely respected scientists. He was also awarded the National Medal of Science, and separately the Presidential Medal of Freedom, both from a Republican president. In science, he is the equivalent of a gadol; Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Tucker Carlson are more like R’ Yosef Mizrachi or R’ Yaron Reuven. Energetic and charismatic, but essentially amaratzim who yell and scream, and say ridiculous things, to get themselves extra attention.

  10. Fauci represents what passes for science in this country. Basically it’s whatever the medical elites would like us to believe even though none of it has any basis in factual actual peer reviewed not corrupted by special interest science. The only kind of science he represents is the science he prefers- the “evolving type” of which he speaks so often. The wishy washy type that allows to pander to whatever interest currently suits his sponsors best. Read the new bestseller “the Real Dr Fauci” to see how the megalomaniac truly loves the kind of science that profits him and his cronies in big pharma best. He does no other kind. Take masks for example- current science – the best new studies done worldwide- do not support mask use . Yet he continues to push it. Where’s that science? His science is “science by press conference” which amounts to him making proclamations to the press which they accept as the current best opinion in science. When in reality it’s just his (mostly wrong so far) whims.

  11. This is Faucis don’t shoot the messenger announcement. I’m just representing God basically so you can’t be mad at me. To him, science is something immutable and rock solid and profoundly truthful. The reality is that half the studies conflict with the other half, based on how they were done. Most of us know that studies – and their conclusions- are basically sponsored by whoever pays the bills. Every study is influenced by its sponsor- most of which comes down to profit. Studies can be manipulated easier than blinking.

  12. Milhouse: Ignorance begets ignorance. Cruz is ridiculed and despised by most members of his own party since he has shown a consistent pattern of abandoning whatever he has previously said to score a political point with the Trumpkopf. Compare Cruz to Mike Lee, a equally if not more conservative senator who is highly respected across his own party and even among many Dems for consistency and adherence to his word. Cruz would run over his own mother (as he did with his father) and back up the bus for good measure if it would gain him any short term political advantage.

  13. Every time the vaccine doesn’t work, they add a 2.0 to the old varrient. So now they double down
    1 can make new vaccines
2 explain why people who took vaccine are dieing. Who knows the joke the Rebba asked I have many segulas still do you still have katchkas???

  14. He’s the laughing stock of the world, him and his CDC that’s always six months out of date with symptoms that aren’t even the proper ones anymore! I advise you to choose from hundreds of experts and countries out there. Israel, Denmark, Korea, it doesn’t matter. Even the UK. You’ll be heathier and at least 6 months ahead of this joke agency. Celebrity doctors aren’t what is needed currently, especially ones that are perpetually wrong in theory.

  15. M, you have got to be kidding. Fauci is NOT a scientist. And he has not “improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of people”; on the contrary, his entire career has been one big fraud. Go back to his baseless panic-mongering during the AIDS crisis, and his total mishandling of it.
