At approximately 3:50 PM on Monday afternoon, Flatbush Hatzolah and other emergency personnel responded to a serious MVA at Ocean Parkway and Avenue L. Three vehicles were involved, including a BMW, another car, and an Access-A-Ride bus. FDNY firefighters were forced to drain the gas tank of one of the vehicles to prevent a potential fire hazard.
CCTV footage captured the black BMW speeding through a red light at a high rate of speed before slamming into two vehicles passing through the intersection. In another camera angle, the same BMW is seen striking a biker seconds earlier, completely destroying the bicycle’s front wheel. Despite the violent impact, the rider fell off the bike and walked away without any injuries.
Multiple injuries were reported in the collision, and the NYPD placed the BMW driver into custody at the scene.

Why was the illegal placed into custody?
Perhaps he had no driver’s license.
Contrary to what the headline may have you believe, a BMW blowing through a red light is a common occurrence-not a Nes. 🙂
As someone who uses a bike as a mode of transportation , I have people always criticizing bike riders for not obeying traffic laws . TAs we see …it’s a two-way street .
