A man identifying himself as “Chaim Abuhatzeira” has been traveling throughout the New York and New Jersey area claiming to be a mekubal, prompting growing concern within the Orthodox Jewish community.
According to Boro Park social media personality Yonoson Schwartz, the individual is not using his real name and has allegedly refused repeated requests to provide documentation confirming his identity.
YWN has spoken with multiple individuals who claim they were victimized by the man. Several people have raised serious allegations regarding his conduct, including claims that he has exploited numerous vulnerable women. These allegations have not been independently verified, and no criminal findings have been established by YWN.
In addition, multiple individuals alleged that the man has become aggressive or violent when confronted.
Despite these concerns, the individual has reportedly been welcomed in some communities and has even met with respected rabbanim who were unaware of the allegations surrounding him.
Community members are urged to exercise extreme caution, thoroughly verify the credentials of anyone claiming to possess extraordinary spiritual powers or seeking private meetings, and immediately contact law enforcement if they believe they have been the victim of any criminal conduct.

I saw him in Tenka last week. I gave him a dollar as I was walking out of shul, but I heard him say something like, “You can put that in the pushka,” in an unappreciative tone. I was very turned off by that.

Who’s the to say what is a “real” Mekubal? They’re all the same.
No beis din. No verified findings. Not one Rav named – just anonymous accusations and a public pile-on. Very troubling way to take down someone- If this is the standard for destroying someone’s reputation, none of you should feel safe.
Honestly. At anytime a person does this. There are deep psychological disturbing issues going on.
Could even be embarrassment or something else.
