Rockland County, New York – The state has reopened its DMV office in Haverstraw that had been closed while crews remediated a mold problem there.
Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef Thursday credited his pressuring the state to reopen it as soon as possible as part of the reason for the speedy resolution.
“We are very grateful the state heard our concerns and responded quickly to the needs of our residents,” Vanderhoef said. “Today’s reopening of the DMV office in Haverstraw will save Rocklanders time and money, and we thank Commissioner Swarts and the State for their help.”
The Haverstraw DMV Office was closed without prior notice on March 9th due to mold cleanup because of a flood that occurred earlier that month. Vanderhoef wrote to State DMV Commissioner David Swarts on April 2nd to ask his assistance in opening the temporary location.
