In an effort to get customers to reduce summer energy use, Consolidated Edison officials are offering rebates for customers who buy energy-efficient appliances and cooling systems.

Customers who buy an Energy Star room air conditioner can receive a $30 rebate from Con Edison.

Applications for the $30 rebate can be downloaded at www.coned.com/roomacrebates.

Con Ed officials has also invested $1.2 billion to make its electric delivery system more efficient.
