At approximately 9:00PM on Monday evening, a Lakewood Police cruiser struck two teens while they were crossing Route 9 near John Street. According to the Asbury Park Press, the girls were treated and released from Kimball Hospital with only minor injuries. A police investigation has determined that there was no speed, alcohol or drugs involved as the officer voluntarily offered a blood test.

Lakewood police are forever talking on their cell phones when they are driving. It wouldn’t surprize me at all if that’s what happened.
