Interesting Spin: Hamas Opposed To PA Statehood Move

Senior Hamas official Salah Bardawil on Wednesday morning issued a warning to PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) explaining that the planned unilateral declaration of Palestinian statehood in the United Nations will serve the interests President Barak Obama and his reelection campaign.

The PA’s Maan News Agency quotes the Hamas official as opposing the planned move, which he feels will define de facto borders of the Jewish State, hence legitimizing the existence of the State of Israel and contributing to recognition of “the state of occupation and its borders”.

Bardawil also fears the move will bring an end to “Palestinian resistance” and as such, the planned move will be an error, just as the signing of the Oslo Agreement proved to be.

  1. Not necessarily. They may make a claim for its existence which does not have current access to all the land that it believes belong to it.
Not that complicated to get around the need to recognize Israel. It has not done so to date and will never do it.
What is more interesting is to see how the Obama administration will react to all this in light of its most recent defeat yesterday.
Worth reading article in today’s WSJ about why Obama is losing Jewish vote.
Even the mentally challenged left wing Jewish liberals are starting to see what Obama is really all about

  2. “Bardawil also fears the move will bring an end to “Palestinian resistance””

It’s all about the fight, it’s not about the land.
