Israel: Minister Warns Of ‘Ticking Time Bomb’

Minister of Strategic Affairs (Likud) Moshe Ya’alon is warning of what he sees as a “ticking time bomb”, the increasing number of illegal aliens crossing into Israel weekly. The minister made his remarks while touring the area of Tel Aviv’s old central bus station, in the southern area of the city, now a safe haven for tens of thousands of illegals. Ya’alon warns that the ticking time bomb threatens us from a security and demographic perspective, and this pressing problem has simply been ignored for too long.

Regarding the open door that exists along the Egyptian border, Ya’alon acknowledges that it is simply not possible to construct a border in one day, but he feels interim action must be taken. The government is doing what is can to expedite construction of the border, as well as a holding area for infiltrators apprehended along the border.

He told Channel 2 that while Israel is a nation with values and ethics, there is also law, and the trend of migrants crossing into the country daily must be halted as quickly as possible.

MK (Ichud HaLeumi) Yaakov Katz (Ketzaleh) has been an outspoken voice warning of the demographic and security disaster that awaits us as a result of the thousands of African aliens who enter Israel weekly. Tel Aviv and Eilat area police have documented the staggering increase in violent crime attributed to the illegals, who prey on the elderly and defenseless in those areas.

In Eilat, the problem is also one of employment, since many illegals work in the city’s hotels at below minimum wage, taking jobs away from residents.
