Lakewood Mayor Menashe Miller announced Thursday evening at the Township Committee meeting that he will be deployed to the Middle East to be with Troops this Holiday Season. The Mayor is expected to be in Qatar for approximately three weeks, as tasked by the U.S Department of Defense.
The Mayor was pleasantly surprised when he walked into Town Hall and saw close to 100 friends and family and the Color Guard waiting for him. The special presentation was in honor of the Mayor’s last meeting of the year, and as a farewell for his deployment to the Middle East.
At the meeting, the crowd heard from Jewish singer Shua Kessin, and were shown a slide presentation in appreciation of the Mayor.
Following the presentation, the Committee members each thanked the Mayor for his job accomplishments for the year, after which the Mayor thanked them each in return.

The same regional newspaper which covered the thanksgiving bus driver story with much glee has no mention of this story, chas veshalom they should print something that shows a Jew in a positive light.

Does anyone know what unit he is assigned to and what he does? What is his rank in the military? Which branch?

Torahumada- He’s a Major in the Air Force (as you can see from the picture) assigned to Joint Base Mcguire-Dix-Lakehurst. I’m not sure which Group our squadron.
