Obama Cancelles Hawaii Vacation After Getting Ripped By Romney

President Obama is not vacationing in Hawaii with his wife and children while the extension of the payroll tax holiday remains in limbo, and has warned GOP congressional leaders to stay in town as well.

Obama had planned to fly to Hawaii with his family on Dec. 17 and stay there through New Year’s.

After getting ripped by GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney over his vacation plans, Obama told Senate Democratic leaders Wednesday that he will stay in town until Congress finishes work on the payroll tax holiday, unemployment benefits and other issues.

Obama told Democratic leaders: “Michelle and the girls are going to have a great time in Hawaii, they don’t need me there,” according to Senate Majority Leader Reid (D-Nev.).

Romney blasted Obama’s vacation plans on Monday.

  1. Both parties agree on the desirability of lowering the payroll tax (except for Cain who isn’t a candidate anymore who wants to abolish altogether, a position that might spread). The only argument is how permanent to make the cut, and how to pay for it. One wants more frugality especially at the expense of civil servants, the other wants to raise taxes on millionaries (or on small businesses, depending whose interpretation you believe). They’ll probably agree in time to go on vacation.

  2. Obama is still a typical socialist elite. Don’t think he had a change of color because his republican challengers as well as any sane people left out here were ripping him for his horrendous decision making.

  3. 1. The “payroll tax” reduction proposed by the libs is a reduction of the Social Security Tax. This means the the “lock box” as if there is one, wouldn’t have as much in it.

If they wanted to reduce taxes, it should be the FEDERAL tax.

  4. if they are looking to reduce the deficit , how about not alloting 600 a month per child till 18 for children of retirees. who on earth spends 600 per child every month. just another govnt appropriation bill spending someone elses money the way they see fit
