2nd Annual Cross-Country Fully Shomer Shabbos Bike Ride

Seeking Minyan in Mesquite, Nevada. And in Zion National Park in Utah. And in Dinosaur Monument, Colorado.

Qualifications: Jewish. Ability to ride a bike. Cross-country, 3279 miles in 7 weeks. Without kvetching.

We are sponsoring a Fully Kosher Fully Shomer Shabbos cross-country ride this summer from Los Angeles to New York. This is the 2nd annual Friendship Circle,  a project designed to raise funds and awareness for special needs children. We intend to stop at Friendship Circle sites throughout the US, and to be inspired by them. Also, there will be a mix of National Parks, deserts, Rocky Mountains , small towns, big cities . In short, we’re taking the scenic route.

Rabbi Mendel Groner, the Director of Friendshp Circle said, “Once we hit the Midwest , we’ll have no problems with a Minyan, there will many joining us for partial legs on the trip. I’d really like to have enough guys for a  Minyan 3 times a day, every day of the trip. Maybe 2 Minyonim, 1 Nusach Ha’Ari, 1 Ashkenaz. While we’re at it, Nusach Sfard and Eidot HaMizrach too, so we need 40 people minimum”.

Just in case the pace is not ambitious enough, we’ll add a challenge. Take off 2 days, 17th of Tammuz, and 9th of Av, where there will be no riding. We’ll have to pedal extra hard in those weeks, to make up for lost days.
