Jimmy Carter: So What if Iran Has an Atom Bomb

In an interview with Time Magazine, the former president responded to the magazine’s “10 Questions”.

While the Western world continues to seek method to pressure Tehran into halting its nuclear program, the 39th president of the United States, Jimmy Carter feels “Well, of course, the religious leaders of Iran have sworn on their word of honor that they’re not going to manufacture nuclear weapons. If they are lying, then I don’t see that as a major catastrophe because they’ll only have one or two military weapons. Israel probably has 300 or so”.

  1. 1. Possibility ONE: fear of MAD (mutually assured destruction) takes hold, as it did for the “Cold War” and it forces the war between the Jews (not just the Israelis) with the Muslims (not just the Palestinians) to come to an end.

2.Possibility TWO: given the great “messianic” fervor in the middle east, they actually bring about MAD (mutually assured destruction)– including the possibility of use of bio-chemical weapons as well, leading to a world wide “dark ages” similar to what hit western Europe 1500 years ago (where the standard of living fell radically and didn’t recover for over 1000 years).

  2. How about taking Carter’s brain and Peres’ brain, put them in a blender together, and come up with a new super hero…

    SUPER IDIOT!

  3. You know what they say – “Out of the mouth of idiots and fools, hast thou derived idiotic and foolish stuff…”
But seriously, when was the last time any terrorists kept their part of a ‘deal’ or ‘agreement’ they reached with Israel? So Iran ‘swearing on their word of honor’ doesn’t mean anything. In fact, the words ‘Iran’ and ‘honor’ shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence. And secondly, does Carter take all of us for idiots (us = readers of this TIME interview)? Comparing Israel’s nuclear arsenal to Iran’s potential nuclear program. Last that I know, Israel hasn’t threatened to nuke Iran off the map. Yet.
