Search For Missing Man In Boro Park Ends In Lakewood [UPDATED 4:10PM]

Volunteers from Hatzolah in Boro Park, as well as Shomrim from Williamsburg and Boro Park were searching for a missing person who has a Psychiatric history, Wednesday afternoon.

The man had been last seen at 2:30PM on 49th Street and 15th Avenue, and was reportedly collecting money on the street.

The NYPD & the Port Authority Police were notified of the search, and were assisting them as well.

Thanks to observant people, the man was tracked down as having taken the bus to Lakewood, NJ, and Hatzolah and Chaverim of Lakewood were notified. He was apprehended when the bus made its first stop in Lakewood, and the Lakewood Police Department was assisting volunteers.

  1. When the bus arrived to Lakewood Chaveirim UNITS #47 #57 and others awaited at one of the stops, got onto the bus and made a positive identification that it is indeed the missing man. They then sent him back to NY.

  2. The bus was contacted and a rendezvous point was established. He was met by askanim when he exited the bus and driven to the police station where arrangements were made to return him to his family. He wasn’t apprehended.
