Arabs Won’t Cooperate with Plesner Committee

According to MK (Kadima) Yochanan Plesner, who heads the state committee formulating the new military draft law, Arab community leaders are refusing to cooperate with the committee.

Plesner told his colleagues that the Arab leadership is boycotting the committee, unwilling to cooperate. While they have been invited to send representatives to take part in the process alongside the others, they prefer to simply boycott the committee, he explains, in line with statements released by Arab MKs who stated they will not permit a new law to compel new realities in the community regarding military service.

Yisrael HaYom reports that a number of prominent personalities in the Israeli Arab community actually wish to take part in the committee and have been called upon to do so, but due to fears for their safety that have opted to remain silent and opt out.

  1. Beautiful. So let them, dare, attempt to forcibly draft Arab and Chareidi citizens into their Army. I’d like to see them try. I can already imagine the jackbooted IDF draft evading police charging into Arab and Chareidi neighborhoods on horseback to forcibly bring the Arabs and Chareidim to the Military Prisons.

Hopefully they already started building new prisons to house hundreds of thousands Arabs and Chareidim.

  2. Think of it. Draft hareidim and Arabs into the army. Best guarantee of a dysfunctional army. Note some articles that Israel is worrying about improving its image in Norway – which explains all this. The zionists want to make the “Lemming” into Israel’s official animal.

  3. if the arabs don’t at least perform community service for free for their communities, then take away their citizenship! We don’t need them here!

  4. Why would any sane person want hostile Arabs in the army anyway. I wouldn’t trust some arabs with my schwarma, let alone with a gun…

  5. Better idea: anyone who doesn’t serve doesn’t vote. I’d prefer to see full time learning — and I mean serious full time learning — counts as service, and also brigades of tillim-zoggers who sit full time saying tillim and count that as their service. But even if none of that happens, it would be worth giving up the votes of those frum people who didn’t serve in order to take away the Arabs’ votes.

  6. Lieba,
Shall we do the same for the Chredim that refuse either military or national service?
Believe it or not, Arabs are just as much citizens as are the Cheredi.
