Security personnel manning the Hizme Checkpoint at the border of northern Yerushalayim towards Shomron saw a 26-year-old suspicious Arab male approaching shortly before candle lighting time on erev shabbos.

They instructed the male to “halt” and when he tried to maneuver away they managed to restrain him, only to find a very large knife being concealed under his jacket.

They explained that they found is suspicious that the male was wearing a jacket on an unseasonably hot day, deciding to act on those suspicions and thereby preventing an attack.

The terrorist was taken into custody and during questioning he admitted he was carrying the knife to perpetrate a stabbing attack against IDF soldiers.
