Israel: Police Raid Homes of Non Profit Directors

Police assigned to the fraud division raided three apartments on Monday morning, accompanied by Internal Revenue Service agents. The apartments belong to three persons belonging to a non-profit organization that allegedly defrauded the state of funds.

According to police the non-profit operates “an anti-Zionist girl’s school and received millions of NIS in state aid” despite the fact the school is not recognized by the state and fails to meet state criteria entitling it to the funds. In addition, some of the names of students submitted for state funding do not exist in the school.

Police raided the homes of officials from theבנות ירושלים – קרן משה”, organization, which has been operating for a number of years.

The head of the organization resides in Beit Shemesh and the other suspects live in Jerusalem and Givat Ze’ev. Police indicate the three received millions of NIS from state agencies, all funds that were applied for illegally.

Police removed documents and computers from the homes during the Monday morning raids.

  1. Sounds political to me.

In many countries, especially in the “third world” when the police raid “enemies of the state” it rarely has to do with anything that would pass in a free country as being law enforcement.

  2. Sorry for comment 5: I realized that it was subsequently updated in a new post. Still, I think it’s imperative to fix it here as well, for those who will only see this post
