More Rain Expected In Waterlogged Catskills

weatherWaterlogged communities in upstate New York are in for more rain, with flash flood warnings posted in the Catskills and flood warnings along the Mohawk and Susquehanna rivers.

The National Weather Service says showers and thunderstorms were moving into eastern New York and western New England Monday morning. Rain is expected to continue into Tuesday, with rainfall amounts of one to three inches in most places and up to five inches possible in some spots.

In Sullivan County, flash flooding prompted some evacuations Sunday evening in Pine Bush. The Red Cross has opened numerous shelters in central New York communities hit by floods Friday, including Herkimer and Fort Plain.

Authorities say at least one woman is missing after flooding swept away her mobile home in Fort Plain last week.
