Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita was discharged from Yerushalayims Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital a short time ago. The rav was admitted last week for back surgery, which the medical team reports was successful.
The Gadol Hador was released on Sunday morning 29 Tammuz 5773 after doctors agreed he may continue recuperating in his home.
The ravs surgeon, Prof. Meir (Iri) Liebergall, who heads the hospitals Department of Orthopedic Surgery, told the media that due to the excellent pace of the ravs recovery, the decision was made to permit him to return home to continue convalescing.
