President Trump slammed Israel’s handling of its war against Hezbollah on Tuesday, saying the fighting has dragged on too long, resulted in too many civilian casualties, and should ultimately be handled by Syria instead.
Speaking at the G7 summit in France, Trump said Israel’s operations against the Iran-backed terror group have continued for too long and suggested the civilian death toll is damaging international support.
“Israel is fighting Hezbollah too long and too many people are being killed,” Trump said. “And you don’t have to knock down an apartment house every time you’re looking for somebody. Because there are a lot of people in those apartment houses. And they’re not all Hezbollah, that I can tell you.”
“They should have been able to do the job faster. It just goes on forever. And when that happens, it throws a negative light on the big deal, and that’s the deal with Iran,” he said, referring to the recently announced U.S.-Iran agreement.
“I didn’t like where, two hours before we’re signing the agreement, that there was an attack in Lebanon, in Beirut,” Trump said.
Trump went on to suggest that Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa should take over the fight against Hezbollah, arguing that Damascus would be more effective while avoiding widespread civilian casualties.
“And I suggested to Israel to let Syria take care of Hezbollah,” Trump said. “Because to be honest with you, I think they’d do a better job of doing it.”
“He’s very capable. And he’s been very good for me. He’s protected everything that I’ve asked for… And if Israel can’t do the job without killing everyone else, he’ll do the job. Syria will do the job.”
Despite the criticism, Trump insisted his relationship with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remains strong.
When asked whether he was frustrated with Netanyahu, Trump replied, “No, we have a great relationship.”
However, he reiterated his concerns over Israel’s recent military actions.
“I didn’t like that he did an attack [over] a very minor little thing with some drones. I saw that attack, I saw where that bomb went. That was a vicious… that was too much. You can do too much also.”
Trump also emphasized America’s support for Israel while urging greater restraint.
“Without the United States, there would be no Israel. Without me, there would be no Israel — because no other president was willing to do what I did.”
“I had a great relationship with Bibi, but now Bibi has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon.”

You make gay parades this past two weeks. One in Jerusalem and one in Tel Aviv. And then at Sodom Dead Sea area you make a four day land for gays and you wonder why Trump turned on Israel.
Wow the man lost his mind. AL sharaa is going to have less civilian casualties? Which other Army alerts everyone to leave the area in advance? And which other country is fighting demons that hide among the civilian population? Never thought Trump could be so stupid
The anti-Israel pundits kept saying that Trump does whatever Israel asks and that Israel wanted the war in Iran but now its becoming painfully obvious: Trump was always acting in the best interest of the Saudis. The Saudis pushed him into the war in Iran and they called him off. His every move is dictated by the Gulf states. It is so obvious.
Trump went from one of the greatest president to one of the most FOOLISH president!
Syria the great Human rights protector can fight Hezbollah better 😂
To add insult to injury Trump just gave Terrorist more reasons to hide behind civilians.
Dumb & Dumber
Al Tivtichu B’nedivim!
Trump is a madman!
Sure – “Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa should take over the fight against Hezbollah” because Damascus would be more effective while avoiding widespread civilian casualties.
Hezbollah hasn’t been shooting missiles at Syrian civilians. It’s not an issue of self-defense, so what in the world would motivate Syria to do a good job at containing Hezbollah? Israel is the country that is facing an existential threat, and has the moral right to do whatever it can to defeat their enemy.
And all this after he so cowardly capitulated to Iran, running away with his tail between his legs, begging for a deal that gives Iran every advantage and no guarantees for Israel’s security.
The megalomaniac is so sure that he is the savior of Israel, and that it continues to exist only thanks to him. Hashem is nowhere in Trump’s picture, the true Protector of Am Yisrael, who showers us with רחמי שמים despite the undeserving State of Israel that is persecuting lomdei Torah.
For all those who referred to Trump with the title shlita as if he was the מושיען של ישראל, it should be easier now for you to have a tad more kavana when you say “אל תבטחו בנדיבים, בבן אדם שאין לו תשועה” Maybe that’s why Hashem is enabling Trump to behave this way – לב מלכים שרים ביד השם is another lesson worth remembering. When they act kindly to us, thank Hashem, and when they don’t, turn to Hashem again and try to be worthy of His מידת החסד.
What a genius!!! What a great friend of Israel and the Jewish people!!!
This is what the prosecution of B’nei Torah has gotten us. What an amazing and terrifying turnaround. May Hashem have mercy on us.
Look how fast we dump a friend, I’m a bit embarrassed about that part. I will not forget the good that he has done, I’m only disappointed at how this foolish Switcheroo ends It Off
rebEmes,
You call that a friend?! Sorry, I voted for him twice. This is not a friend. This is a self serving man full of himself. I truly believe this is his primary problem – he is SO full of himself and thinks only about that. Himself, his legacy, his ego. Period.
It’s so pathetic how people type things out with zero thought and even less classified knowledge.
He stated that Syria would do a better job controlling their fellow Arabs than could the pathetic Zionists who have been fighting wars for over a century against them. He even gave a specific example: you don’t take down a whole building just because you want one guy there. It’s so silly that people arrogantly claim they know better and that he’s crazy and all that. Maybe he is right and you obviously know nothing.
Objectively, he has been among the greatest friends – if not the greatest – in the White House that Jew have ever had. And, liHavdil, for the Zionist idolaters, he has certainly been the same to them, too.
And there is no indication that he has had any change in heart.
The reality is that Hashem runs the world and lev melachim viSarim biYad Hashem. As well, the massive shmad and idol has been oppressing the Torah learners and attacking G-d and His Torah like never before, including the toeiva parades mentioned by a previous commenter. So that idol will eventually disappear from this world.
Trump is merely a puppet from Heaven. You declare war on Torah and the Torah fights back. You turn Israel into Sodom so that’s the Dead Sea.
Aha. So when the US bombed a school in Iran, they probably should have left that to Syria.
This is a gzeirah min hashamayim. Hashem is fully in control & he manipulated Mr Trump into a senseless deal that will ruin his legacy. The Israeli public now see how alone they are in the world, one sheep surrounded by 70 wolves. Instead of hounding the bnei yeshiva, they might wake up & realize that it is they who are saving the land from destruction. Mr Trump is a good friend of the Jews but a ruach shtus was put into him to agree to this. This might be a wakeup call from heaven to the secular Jews to leave the bnei torah alone.
What a pity on Mr Trump. He was a good friend of the Jewish people but has now embarrassed himself out of desperation for a deal. Most of the money will be invested in more arms in Iran. Hashem turned a good friend of ours into a fool because the State attacked the lomdei torah. We still need to address him with respect. He must be so frustrated right now.
Erdogan and Qatar and Pakistan each chip in a few billion for each time he publicly insults any Jews.
Only stupid comments make it through is the law of the Yeshiva World control freaks. The only true comment part of the deal was he must criticize Israel and Jews is 99% likely based on clauses Qatar, Pakistan and Erdogan have added upon bribing Trump people in the past.
It is 100% part of the bribe. Find a single occasion of bloody Trump speaking this way of any of his Islamic bribers, one bad word from Trump about Qatar, SA, Erdogan, Pakistan you can’t and won’t.
@Haimy:
” The Israeli public now see how alone they are in the world, one sheep surrounded by 70 wolves.”
That chazal applies to the Jewish people as a whole, not the pseudo-nation of “Israel”. The mess into which the Zionists got themselves is far worse than that chazal – and totally and needlessly self-inflicted (and inflicted on the rest of world Jewry) for over a century.
